Overview:
LEDs (Light Emitting
Diode)
in product development are quickly becoming the light source of choice
for most domestic and commercial applications. They offer
superior performance and economy in many respects.
Just as Thomas
Edison's circa 1880 invention of a practical incandescent light bulb
herald the Art Nouveau movement,
LEDs are now changing what the marketplace has to offer and the
aesthetic sense of the consumer. The glut on the market of
lighting products in
post modern design styles is the result of price driven marketing, much
more than
consumer preference. Realizing this, Cote' Art & Engineering,
Inc. is initiating a bold research and development project to address
the coming tide of demand.
Overall the most significant change in Manufacturing in the last 100
years has been the cost of producing small numbers of "customized"

Holistic DMM
A significant and largely untapped power of Digital Manufacturing Methods (DMM) is the
ability to produce products with unique designs
inexpensively. In many instances the increased cost is
practically nil. An example of this would be printing or
applying fractal
images (from the Mandelbrot set)
to a product. Such design
details can be transferred Just
In Time (JIT) to make for a
seamless
design to production process. This practice can be extended
throughout the entire business from the sale to delivery of a
finished product to the end user/customer.
Conventional consumer space lighting products are out of sync with
architectural needs and demands. This is due principally to
the trend toward homes and buildings being designed to have much lower
use of electric power. To address these fundamental changes
we are developing new types of services for Architects and equipment
for Builders to use.
In the last century the economy of
the World has
become "Globalized". Now, in order to produce and market
goods and services efficiently and cost effectively, it is imperative
that this fact be taken into account. By forging new
alliances with people and companies in strategic locations around the
World, we will be best able to deal with the common challenges we
face.
